Since my Masters Degree, I developed interest towards bioinformatics. Comparative genomics of microbes, especially from human microbiome was the key area of my doctoral research. The informatics skills and coding experience allowed me to develop computational pipelines for various bioinformatics areas especially the comparative pan genomics and phylogenetics of microbes.

Studying the microbial ecology within humans and other environments like ground water, soil, rock system and understanding their metabolic capabilities using metagenomics approaches, is the area of my current interest. Herein, I am interested in recovering near complete genomes of previously uncultured microbes from ground aquifers and studying their genome dynamics and pan-genome for better understanding their adaptive evolution and their role in biogeochemical cycles.
