Aufbau von Forschungsinfrastruktur: 2016 FGI 0024 - BIODIV

The goal of this project is to support and strengthen infrastructure and innovative research in the field of integrative biodiversity research in Jena via investment in large instrumentation. Research projects supported by this funding range from the investigation of genetic diversity on the molecular level up to assessment of spatial biodiversity patterns on the landscape level and integrate several working groups of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

Deutsches Zentrum für integrative Biodiversitätsforschung (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig

iDiv, the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research, is a hub for international biodiversity science whose central mission is to promote theory-driven synthesis and data-driven theory.

Collaborative Research Centre AquaDiva

The CRC AquaDiva focusses on roles of water (Aqua) and biodiversity (Diva) for shaping the structures, properties and functions of the Earth's Critical Zone (CZ).

Jena School for Microbial comunication

The Graduate School Jena School for Microbial Communication (JSMC) hosts over 150 doctorates and is funded by the German Excellence Initiative (DFG).

International Max Planck Research School

The International Max Planck Research School in Jena is an international graduate program to train excellent students in the use of molecular and chemical techniques to experimentally explore ecological interactions under natural conditions. The main focus is on the interactions between plants, animals, and their environment, as well as the behavioral consequences of these interactions.

CRC ChemBioSys

The CRC adresses chemical mediators that have fundamental implications soil and aquatic environments (plankton) communities as well as for symbioses and pathogenicity.
