The CRC AquaDiva focusses on roles of water (Aqua) and biodiversity (Diva) for shaping the structures, properties, and functions of the Earth's Critical Zone (CZ).

idivDeutsches Zentrum für integrative Biodiversitätsforschung (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig

iDiv, the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research, is a hub for international biodiversity science, whose central mission is to promote theory-driven synthesis and data-driven theory.

chembiosysCollaborative Research Centre 1127 ChemBioSys

The CRC ChemBioSys addresses chemical mediators that have fundamental implications for soil and aquatic environment's (plankton) communities as well as for symbioses and pathogenicity.

jsmcJena School for Microbial Comunication

The Graduate School Jena School for Microbial Communication (JSMC) hosts over 150 doctorates and is funded by the German Excellence Initiative (DFG).

IMPRS logoInternational Max Planck Research School for Global Geochemical Cycles

The IMPRS-gBGC offers a PhD program specializing in global biogeochemistry and related Earth System sciences that grants German and foreign students a broad selection of learning opportunities while still maintaining a research focus.

Europäischer Fond für regionale EntwicklungAufbau von Forschungsinfrastruktur: 2016 FGI 0024 - BIODIV

The goal of this project is to support and strengthen infrastructure and innovative research in the field of integrative biodiversity research in Jena via investment in large instrumentation. Research projects supported by this funding range from the investigation of genetic diversity on the molecular level up to assessment of spatial biodiversity patterns on the landscape level and integrate several working groups of the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.
